Woman accused of slashing roommate

— A Fayetteville woman was arrested Saturday on allegations of slashing her live-in boyfriend in the face with broken glass.

Dana Renee Hites, 24, of 6834 W. Wedington Drive, remained in the Washington County Detention Center on Sunday awaiting a bond hearing. She was being held in connection with a felony charge of second-degree domestic battery on a household member.

Fayetteville police were called to the home about 8:48 p.m. Saturday.

They found Carl Morrow bleeding from the face, bent over a sink in a bathroom. He was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A friend of Morrow's, Bobby Allen, told police that he, Morrow and Hites were drinking on Dickson Street when Hites and Morrow began to argue. When they arrived home, Hites threw a bottle of liquor on the floor, picked up the broken bottle and swung it at Morrow. The weapon later turned out to be a blue drinking glass.

Hites admitted to police she swung the glass at Morrow, according to a police report, but said she didn't mean to injure him.
