— Broyles guest speaker at TD Club meeting

Former Arkansas Coach and Athletic Director Frank Broyles will be the guest speaker at today's Little Rock Touchdown Club luncheon at the Embassy Suites hotel in Little Rock.

Broyles coached the Razorbacks from 1958-1976, compiling a 144-58-5 record with seven Southwest Conference championships, the 1964 national championship and 10 bowl appearances. He was athletic director from 1973 until his retirement in December 2007.

Lunch will be served at 11 a.m., and the program begins at noon.

Lunch is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. The membership fee is $50 and 50-Yard Line membership is $250 and includes reserved seating and a photo with the guest speaker.

SOCCER Razorbacks fall 2-0 to Georgia

Georgia (8-1-1, 2-0 SEC) scored a goal in each half for a 2-0 victory over Arkansas (6-2-2, 0-2) on Sunday at Razorback Field in Fayetteville.

Georgia got a first-half goal from Jamie Pollock off an assist from Rebekah Perry at the 3:27 mark. That score stood until late in the game when Marah Falle scored off an assist from Mariah Krase at the 79:49 mark.

UALR ties South Alabama 2-2

UALR tied South Alabama 2-2 on Sunday at Burns Park in North Little Rock.

UALR (3-6-1, 0-1-1 Sun Belt Conference) scored 16 seconds into the game on a goal by Rachael Maina from 10 yards out. The Trojans made it 2-0 on a goal by Christina Veasley later in the first half.

South Alabama scored in the 82nd minute when Liz Clark rebounded a shot by Kristin Sutton. Two minutes later, Clark assisted on a goal by Brandi Smith.

UALR had four shots on goal in the overtime periods against South Alabama goalkeeper Cassie Lythjohan.

ASU shuts out Troy

Arkansas State (5-4-1, 2-0 Sun Belt Conference) won 3-0 against Troy (5-4-1, 1-1) on Sunday at ASU Soccer Park in Jonesoboro.

The Red Wolves, who outshot Troy 18-15, got goals from Tory Pitts, Kara Nitti and Tracy Powell, and goalkeeper Susan Brown had eight saves in her second shutout.

UCA falls to Western Illinois

Taylor Hart scored his first goal for Central Arkansas, but the shorthanded Bears team fell 3-1 to Western Illinois Sunday in Macomb, Ill.

Central Arkansas (2-6-1) was without the services of Zac Burns, Kaleb Ferrer, Alex Ghaffari, Regis Mawire and Mickey Segura due to sickness against the Leathernecks (2-5).

VOLLEYBALL Arkansas falls to Kentucky

Arkansas lost 25-18, 25-23, 25-21 to 17th-ranked Kentucky on Sunday at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Ky.

Kelli Stipanovich led Arkansas with 12 kills, marking the sixth time this season she led the Razorbacks in kills. Her .800 hitting percentage was the third-best single-match performance in school history.

FIELD HOCKEY Warriors fall to SCAC Foe Colonels

Abby Coleman scored the lone goal for Hendrix in a 3-1 loss to Centre College on Sunday at Warrior Field in Conway. Centre got goals from Jessica McLean, Anna Fuller and Mary Kate Clodius.
