BENTONVILLE — Tiger Tailgate set for Oct. 3
The Thomas Jefferson Elementary School PTO will host the second annual Tiger Tailgate from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 3.
The festivities will include jump houses, games, food, music and a silent auction. The public is invited to join the school in the celebration.
The event will take place at the school, 810 Bella Vista Road in Bentonville. Tickets are $30 for a family pass or $10 per person.
Food will be an additional cost.
All funds raised will go toward programs at Thomas Jefferson.
Pea Ridge Mule Jump is Oct. 10
The 21st annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump will be held Oct. 10 at Pea Ridge High School, 781 W. Pickens Road.
Opening ceremonies will start at 9 a.m. followed by the halter class (mule beauty pageant), a stick mule event (for children), barrel and flag races, pole bending, hog calling and the mule jumping competition.
Bentonville school bus in minor accident
No one was injured and no citations were issued in a minor motor vehicle accident involving a Bentonville School District school bus.
The accident happened around 8 a.m. Friday, said Sonny Lee, interim director of transportation.
There were 20 students on the bus that was exiting Interstate 540 on exit 86, which is the 14th Street exit. Thebus had been headed south on I-540. The bus rear-ended a GMC Safari that was at the traffic light.
All the students were checked by medical personnel at the scene and then taken to school.
LJHS plant sale is Thursday, Friday
Lincoln Junior High School in Bentonville will hold its annual mum and pansy sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. All proceeds will go to another 21st Century Classroom. The school is at 1206 Leopard Lane.
