— Will Nolan get rollin' in WNBA?

If Tulsa gets a WNBA franchise, the probability is former Arkansas Razorbacks Coach Nolan Richardson will be the team's inaugural head coach, the Tulsa World reported.

Negotiations are ongoing between Richardson, 67, and the investment group that hopes to bring a WNBA team to Tulsa.

Investor David Box answered "not yet" when asked Wednesday by the Tulsa World if an agreement with Richardson has been reached.

Richardson said it would be premature to report he will be the team's coach.

However, Richardson has met with Box multiple times and a source close to the situation indicated that details are being hashed out that could soon result in Richardson coming out of retirement to launch a WNBA team in the city where he began his NCAA Division I coaching career. Richardson's first major college coaching job was at Tulsa.

Richardson, who has a ranch in the Fayetteville area, made a trip Monday to Tulsa to speak with Box and to play in the Vince Williams Memorial Foundation golf tournament at Indian Springs Country Club. Williams, who died in 2002, played for Richardson at Tulsa.

Many golf tournament participants approached Richardson and offered congratulations on his return to coaching. Richardson thanked them, but cautioned his return wasn't yet a done deal.

Cowboys sacked

New York Giants linebacker Danny Clark was not impressed with Jerry Jones' new $1.15 billion Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

After the Giants' 33-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, Clark was critical of the visiting locker room.

"There's not a lot of hot water in there," Clark told Sirius XM satellite radio. "[Jones] cut some corners in the bathroom there."

Clark also was dismissive of the noise factor created by an NFL-record crowd of 105,121.

"It wasn't as loud as you would think 105,000 people would be, and for good reason," he said.

"I mean, we did a decent job of making some plays so they weren't all over the place, but I played in Michigan [Stadium]where there's 100,000 people. It wasn't crazy.

"I played in New Orleans when we reopened the Superdome in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina.

That place was twice as loud as this new stadium." Paterno's rule

Penn State was 9-0 entering the game at Iowa last year but saw its national championship hopes ruined in a 24-23 loss on a last second field goal.

But don't mention the Rword to Coach Joe Paterno as the Nittany Lions prepare for Saturday night's home game.

"I don't like the word revenge," Paterno said. "I don't know what revenge has got to do with football. It's not like they sneaked up on us and stuck us in the back with a knife or something." He said it

Detroit Tigers Manager Jim Leyland: "You talk about managers, we're pretty much all the same. When we have good players we usually do all right.

There are no tricks. You get good players and you win, everything is OK. You don't win and you usually go."Quote of the day "He's a big guy, but
