Gahagans powers Indians to home win vs. Heritage

— Brice Gahagans struck early witha 92-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and the Ramay (2-2, 2-1 in NWAC) Indians went on to a 21-0 victory against Rogers Heritage(0-4, 0-3) on Thursday at Harmon Field.

Gahagans finished the game with 183 rushing yards and scored all three touchdowns. The 92-yard run came on the ensuing play after Gahagans forced a fumble at the Ramay 8-yard line.

"We felt like we had a play there that would work. I didn't think it would go 90 yards but certainly with (Gahagans') ability he's able to do things like that," Ramay head coach Craig Foringer said.

Ramay limited the War Eagles to 94 total yards and forced four turnovers. After the early turnover, the War Eagles earned only one first down the rest of the half.

"Our defense really stepped it up," Foringer said. "Our goal is to keep a team under 125 yards and create two turnovers. We feel like we're going to win the ballgame if we can do that."

The Indians led 21-0 at the half after scoring runs of three and 19 yards by Gahagans.

The War Eagles threatened in the third quarter but an 11-play drive went for naught after Joey Brown picked off Heritage quarterback Forrest Johnson at 's 14-yardline. Ricky Tuttle led Heritage with 35 yards rushing and Johnson added 18.

In the eighth-grade game, Oakdale quarterback JoshQualls scored a touchdown from 12 yards out with no time left to give the Patriots a 12-9 win. Ramay had taken a 9-6 lead on a RobertoSolis field goal with 49 seconds remaining.

Tigers 32, Panthers 0

SILOAM SPRINGS - Bentonville Black (3-1) posted its second shutout this season and won for the third week in a row with a victory against Siloam Springs (2-2) in nonconference play

Tearris Wallace and Caleb Haney both had five-yard touchdown runs in the first half for a 12-0 lead and a pair of big plays in the third quarter put the game away.

Ramiro Valencia threw a 50-yard scoring pass to Gavin Shadrick for a 19-0 lead. Later in the period, Wallace broke off a 45-yard run for a score and a 26-0 lead.

Valencia added an 11-yard touchdown run later in the game.

Wallace and Grant Wilbanks each had in interception for the Tigers.

Tigers 28,Wranglers 14

BENTONVILLE - Reese Dollins threw a pair of touchdown passes and nose guard Gunner Gilbert rumbled in from 17 yards on an interception return for a score as Bentonville Gold (4-0, 3-0) cruisedpast Springdale George (0-4, 0-3) at Tiger Stadium.

Dollins threw for 25 yards to John Donald in the first quarter and 22 yards to Austin Haggard early in the second for a 14-0 halftime lead.

Gilbert's score came early in the third. He grabbed a pass tipped by Gold linebacker Garrett Kaufman and headed for the end zone.

Chris Mizelle returned a punt midway through the third 63 yards for a touchdown and the Tigers didn't look back. Baylor Broughton was 4 for 4 on PAT kicks.

Warriors 33, Mounties 7

ROGERS - Springdale Central (4-0, 2-0) held Rogers to less than 50 yards total offense and remained undefeated with a win at Mountie Stadium on Thursday.

Quarterback Nick Wary threw for 91 yards and scored the only touchdown for the Mounties (2-2, 1-1) in the fourth quarter.

Stokes Wentzler had five catches for 39 yards and Grant Holman had five catches for 38 yards to lead Rogers.
