Felonies pile up against Rogers man

Explicit photos could be key in the case against Richard Homer Bain.

— A Rogers man is accused of sexually assaulting a teenager and taking explicit photographs of him.

Richard Homer Bain, 48, was arrested Monday on charges of sexual assault in the second degree, a class B felony; distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a class C felony; and engaging children in sexually explicit conduct for use in visual or print medium, a class B felony.

After his arrest, Bainwas brought to the Rogers Police Department, wherehe was shown hundreds of photographs showing the alleged victim in his underwear or naked, according to an affidavit of probable cause prepared by Rogers police detective Scott Fry. The alleged victim brought 47 photographs to the police station.

Bain, who was a foster parent, told Fry the alleged victim had come into his (Bain's) home when the boy was 12 or 13 years old, according to court documents.

Bain admitted letting the alleged victim, at the age of 14 watch pornographyon a computer, and then Bain would photograph the teen, according to the affidavit. Bain admitted to Fry to taking sexually explicit photographs of the youth until he turned 18 or 19, the affidavit states.

According to the affidavit, several of the photographs showed a second juvenile who was nude in the pictures. Bain admitted taking photographs of the second youth while camping with him in Kansas, the affidavit states.

During a search of Bain's residence, police also found numerous other pornographic pictures and two plaster casts of the alleged victim's penis that Bain admitted making, according to court documents.

Bain was released Wednesday from the Benton County Jail after posting $75,000 bond.

His arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Nov. 2 before Circuit Judge Robin Green.

Julie Munsell, a spokeswoman with the Arkansas Department of Human Services, said Bain is not a current foster parent and has not been since 2005.

Valentin Jimenez case

In an unrelated case, Rogers police arrested Valentin Jimenez, 37, on suspicion of raping a 9-year-old boy.

Jimenez was arrested Friday on a charge of rape, a class Y felony.

The child was interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center of Benton County, where he described being abused by Jimenez, according to court documents.

Jimenez is being held in the Benton County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
