Dolls debut at Bentonville library

— The Bentonville Public Library has launched a new public exhibit program by featuring a traveling doll exhibit in the library's Fireplace Room.

"Partnering with the Young at Heart Doll Club of Bella Vista is a nice opportunity for the library to showcase an attractive display of special dolls," Director Hadi Dudley said in a news release. "Theexhibit enhances the Fireplace Room by featuring characters in literature, with accompanying books. From Laura Ingalls Wilder to a Pinocchio string puppet, the display will delight patrons of all ages."

The Young at Heart Doll Club of Bella Vista meets monthly. New members are welcome. For more information, call 855-4643.

The traveling doll exhibit is a Region 7 project, which covers Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. It consists of special character dolls and accompanying books thatwere donated by various clubs within Region 7.

Through the United Federation of Doll Clubs, doll collectors are united by their appreciation for dolls. The objective of the nonprofit organization is to create, stimulate and maintain a national and international interest in all matters pertaining to doll collecting.
