FAYETTEVILLE Traffic flow will be controlled a bit differently for this year's Bikes, Blues & BBQ rally.
According to a statement released by city administration, orange traffic cones will be used to maximize traffic flow. Cones will be placed along the southbound section of College Avenue from Lafayette Street to Dickson Street to designate the right-hand lane for traffic turning west on Dickson Street. The southbound inside lane will be for southbound through traffic.
Traffic heading east on Dickson Street will be allowed to only turn right at the intersection of College Avenue and Dickson Street. Traffic heading west on Dickson Street will be allowed to only turn left or right at the intersection of College Avenue and DicksonStreet, and be prohibited from going straight on Dickson Street.
With the exception of Saturday's Parade of Power, city streets will not be closed for this event until it becomes a public safety issue.
The Parade of Power is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday and will stage on Beechwood Avenue, between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West 15th Street. The convoy will proceed east on 15th Street to Razorback Road, turn north on Razorback Road, then east on Maple Street, south on Garland Avenue, east on Dickson Street, south on North College Avenue, west on Fifteenth Street and back to the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Motorists are urged to choose alternate routes of travel, away from this parade route during this time frame to reduce wait time.
