Bisbee to host public conferences

The goal is to keep the public better informed.

— In order to better communicate with the citizens of Benton County, County Judge Dave Bisbee is preparing to hold brown-bag-lunch speeches at noon each Friday for the remainder of his term.

"We are trying to do a better job managing our information flow and becoming more present out in the county," Bisbee said of the conferences.

Each Friday, Bisbee - or one of his county administrators - will travel to Rogers, Bella Vista, Siloam Springs or Bentonville to deliver a 5- to 10-minute statement about what is going on in county government, Bisbee said.

Following the statement, members of the public and the press will be allowed to ask questions or voice concerns, Bisbee said.

At noon Friday, Bisbee will hold his first conference at the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, 317 W. Walnut St. in Rogers.

There, Bisbee will address the 2010 budget process, as well as the county's building plan.
