BHS faces Lady 'Dogs on road

— A week ago, Bentonville volleyball coach Michelle Coens credited a homecourt advantage for helping her team pull out a key 7A-West victory.

The Lady Tigers play another conference title contender tonight, but this time they'll be on the road.

Bentonville puts its unbeaten conference record on the line against Fayetteville at Bulldog Gymnasium. The Lady Tigers, 6-0 in the 7AWest, lead Fayetteville and Springdale Har-Ber by one game.

Playing at Tiger Arena last Thursday against Fort Smith Southside, the Lady Tigers trailed two games to none before rallying to win 17-25, 23-25, 25-22, 26-24, 17-15.

Coens said afterward her team was fortunate to be playing at home, able to feed off the home-crowd energy inside Tiger Arena.

That advantage will be on Fayetteville's side tonight, but Bentonville is still hoping to wrap up the first half of the conference round-robin with a perfect record.

Both teams won conference matches Tuesday night. Bentonville had no problems in a 3-0 win at Rogers Heritage, the team's 19th win in its last 20 conference matches.

Fayetteville won the final two games to rally for a 3-2 win on the road at Southside.
