Sharing and Caring dinner and auction, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Riordan Hall, Bella Vista Health fair set at Jones Center

The Jones Center for Families will have its ninth annual Health Fair from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.

Representatives from more than 100 local health-care organizations and businesses will be on hand. Free screenings for stroke risk, depression, diabetes, glaucoma, nutritional deficiency and high or low blood pressure will be offered.

The 2009 Cave Springs Days Fall Festival is set for Friday and Saturday in downtown Cave Springs.

Barbecue dinners will be served Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Cave Springs community building.

A firemen's pancake breakfast will be 6-10 a.m. Saturday at the Cave Springs fire station, followed by a car show and silent auction in the parking lot at city hall from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Cave Springs Days parade is set to begin at 11 a.m.

This year's theme is "Transportation Through the Ages."

The annual Cave Springs School reunion and the annual dog show will begin at noon.

The event concludes with music, free food, a magician and a dunk tank at 5 p.m.

Fundraiser to benefit fire department

The Northeast Benton County Volunteer Fire Department will have its 16th annual Turkey Shoot and Rib Cook-Off fundraiser from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Fire Station No. 1, U.S. 62 and Wimpy Jones Road, in Garfield.

The event will feature shotgun, poker, clay bird and archery shoots. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Bingo, silent and live auctions, raffles, live music, a human bowling ball game and games and prizes for kids are planned.

For the sixth year, the Turkey Shoot also will feature a rib cook-off. Cooks will sell their ribs following judging at noon.
