Road Closings

The City of Fayetteville will begin construction of a 36-inch water line on Monday along Township Street between Gulley Park and Arkansas Highway 265. Lane closures are expected. Detour signs will be posted to reroute traffic as necessary.

Events and Activities

Kappa Delta sorority will host a clothing drive and cookout from noonto 2 p.m. today at 404 W. Maple St. in Fayetteville in celebration of National Women's Friendship Month. Proceeds will be donated to the Children's Safety Center in Springdale.

The 27th annual WinFest will be held at noon today at Winslow Ballpark, U.S. 71, Winslow. There will be live music, vendors and a kid area. Bring lawn chairs and coolers (no glass allowed). Admission is free. For more information, call 479-634-3105.

The Historic and Heritage Resources Action Group of Fayetteville Forward (FFEAC) will hold an information and input session from 1:30-3:30 p.m. today at the Fayetteville Public Library in the Willard and Pat Walker Meeting Room.

Vandergriff Elementary will have a 2009 Vandergriff Tailgate Party from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kraynik Track. The event will feature bouncers, a dunk tank, karaoke, music and food from the Razorback Hog Grill.

The Wedington Fire Department will have a pancake breakfast from 6-11 a.m. Saturday. Cost is $5 for adults, $2 for children 6-12 years, and children under six eat free. Menu includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, juice, coffee and milk. The fire department is located five miles from I-540 on Highway 16 West.

The Love Out Loud! Art and Music Festival will take place Friday and Saturday from 7-10 p.m. at Vintage Fellowship, 3416 N. College Ave., in Fayetteville. The festival is intended to raise awareness and sponsorship for the Arts in ministry. There will be live music and artwork from local artists on display.

The Shackelford Family Reunion will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Elkins Community Center. Attendees are encouraged to bring items for a potluck and photos. For more information, call Floy Robbins at 643-2325.
