Jordan to hold town hall meeting Sept. 28

— Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan will hold a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Fayetteville Boys & Girls Club.

Each of the four planned town hall meetings is scheduled in a different ward throughout the year; this meeting will be held in Ward 4. The Fayetteville Boys & Girls Club is located at 560 N. Rupple Road.

The town hall meeting gives residents an opportunity to learn more about local government and ask questions about programs and policies of city government. Everyone is invited.

"I encourage you to come to the town hall meeting," Jordan stated in a press release. "I want to listen to your ideas and concerns, provide information, and learn from you as to ideasthat will make Fayetteville even stronger than it is now."

Jordan will be joined by several city department heads, including Finance Director Paul Becker, who will provide information about city finances; City Engineer Chris Brown, who will discuss Mount Comfort Road and Garland Avenue; Development Services Director Jeremy Pate to discuss residential codes; Parks and Recreation Director Connie Edmonston to discuss Bryce Davis and Red Oak parks; and Police Chief Greg Tabor to discuss police response times.

Additionally, Jordan and Chief of Staff Don Marr will provide a review of stimulus funding.

The last 30 minutes of the meeting will be devoted exclusively to questions from the audience.
