Construction along Township begins Monday

— The city of Fayetteville will begin construction of a 36-inch water line Monday along Township Street between Gulley Park and Arkansas 265. The majority of the work will be on the north side of Township Street. Lane closures will be required because of the size of the water line beinginstalled. Detour signs will be posted to reroute traffic as necessary.

Construction for the water line will also begin in Gulley Park that day. The construction will take place through the center of the park between Old Wire Road and Township Street. Construction will consist of a bore under Niokaska Creek that runsthrough the park. Lane closures off Old Wire Road will be required to facilitate the work. Detour signs will be posted to reroute traffic as necessary.

Gulley Park will not be closed during construction, however, portions of the trail will be rerouted .

All construction is expected to be completed in December 2009.
