BASEBALL Arkansas Sting seeks players

Arkansas Sting, an affiliate of Arkansas Scorpions baseball team, is seeking a few players for the 2010 season.

Strong pitching and high-level competitive baseball experience a plus. Players can't be 14 before May 1, 2010.The Arkansas Sting will be the 13 AAA team of the 13 Majors Arkansas Scorpions.

Tryout registration is now taking place for Fall League play.The following groups are now eligible to register:

Coaching slots available for NWA Middle School League

Rogers basketball teams, sponsored by the AAO, that will be playing in the new Northwest Arkansas Middle School Basketball League this fall and winter are looking for quali fied individuals interested in coaching a boys' basketball team.

The Rogers teams will consist of a sixth- and a seventhgrade team from Kirksey Middle School and Elmwood Middle School.

Expectations of coaching qualifications are:

◊A positive role model for the athletes of this age group;

◊Have experience playing high school basketball or beyond;

◊Expectations to learn and coach the Rogers High School basketball system and be trained through the AAO basketball clinics.
