Bush's missile shield for Europe dumped

President Barack Obama said Thursday at the White House that technology advances and a revised view of the threat posed by Iran drove his decision on a missile defense system.
President Barack Obama is scrapping a Bush administration plan to install a missile-defense network in Poland and the Czech Republic for a new system he said would be more flexible and better able to counter threats to the U.S. and Europe.
