SUV strikes pole, knocks out power

A shattered telephone pole lies along College Avenue between Davidson Street and Trenton Boulevard in Fayetteville on Wednesday after a Toyota 4Runner ran into the pole causing it to land on top of the vehicle Tuesday night. Power workers repaired the pole in just a few hours after the accident.
A late night car accident on College Avenue left more than 100 Southwestern Electric Power Co. customers without electricity for less than three hours Tuesday.
