100 YEARS AGO Sept. 17, 1909 One schoolhouse for every working day in the year was built in Arkansas during the past year, according to the statistics prepared on the subject by the State Educational Department. The figures also show that last year was perhaps the first since the admission of Arkansas to the Union that no log schoolhouse was built in the state.
