A motorcycle plated in copper preserved from the restoration of the Statue of Liberty will be on display during next week's 10th annual Bikes, Blues & BBQ festival in Fayetteville.

The "Liberty Bike" will be on display in the center court area at the Northwest Arkansas Mall on Sept. 24, 25 and 26.

An Indy race car driven by Marco Andretti will also be on display the same dates at a classic car show scheduled at the Arkansas Music Pavilion's outdoor facility at the mall.

Both of these displays are part of the Bikes, Blues & Hot Rods Too promotion planned at the AMP during the 10th annual motorcycle rally. The Ozarks Blues Society and Youth Bridge were named Tuesday as charity partners in the activities at the AMP. Both groups will provide volunteers to help sell merchandise anddrinks.

The Ozarks Blues Society booked a day of free blues music - from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. - at the AMP on Sept. 26. The AMP is selling tickets for two other concerts: Molly Hatchet on Sept. 24 and Marshall Tucker on Sept. 25.

Brian Crowne, owner of the AMP, said that a car show will take place beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 25, but he encouraged car owners to bring out their vehicles to display on Thursday and Friday, too.

"We are encouraging folks to come out and show off their cars," Crowne said.

Greg Sparrow, of Habitotes, said that he is excited about the display of the Liberty Bike, which is sponsored by his company.

"It's a rolling relic made out of a piece of our national heritage," Sparrow said. "It'd be a great thing for school field trips."

The left side of the bike has a shift lever made from a section of the electrical cable that illuminated the Statue of Liberty's torch, he said. The Liberty Bike was created to spread the message of liberty and freedom that the Statue of Liberty represents.

Over the past two years, the Liberty Bike has raised money for the American Red Cross, The National Children's Advocacy Center, The Still Serving Veterans Foundation, The Fallen Police Officers Fund and the U.S. Special Olympics.

Since 2007, the Liberty Bike has traveled more than 55,000 miles, visiting America's schools, military bases and other places. It has appeared on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno and the Discovery Channel's hit series "American Chopper."

Crowne also announced Tuesday that Kum & Go convenience store company is the title sponsor for events at the AMP during the rally. Venom Energy sports drinks is sponsoring the Indy car display.
