Woman allegedly punches J.C. Penney employee in throat during theft

A Mississippi woman was taken into police custody Friday on allegations of punching a loss prevention officer in the throat while trying to steal clothes from a local department store. Jasmine C. Watson, 20, of 1408 Reed St. in Tupelo, Miss., faces criminal charges of robbery, theft of property, second-degree criminal mischief, fleeing and resisting arrest.
