100 YEARS AGO Sept. 11, 1909 The city will have to borrow only $6,000 this month, according to a recapitulation made by Acting Mayor Tuohey. It was expected that the deficit would amount to $8,000, but an increase in the receipts from licenses and the continuation of the policy of cutting down expenses has reduced it.
