LOWELL Springdale police are telling residents and schools to be on the lookout for an 11-foot snake that escaped its owner.
A news release says the snake, a yellow-and-white Burmese python that is 8 inches in diameter, was reported missing at 4:15 a.m. Friday from a house at 802 Buford.
The snake was still missing at 9:30 a.m. this morning. Animal control officers and neighbors were in the area searching for the snake.
The home is near Central Junior High School and several other businesses, including a day care. They all have been notified, a police dispatcher said.
