Rogers loses a gentleman

Former Mayor Harry Smith died Aug. 27 in Missouri.

Harry Smith had little time to set his reputation. The retired soldier moved to Rogers in June 1973 and was elected mayor in November of the following year. His legacy would include a passion for the community, a desire for service and a demand for fairness, but he is now often remembered simply as a gentleman.
