Swing for Hope on Oct. 9
BENTONVILLE The Swing for Hope golf tournament will be held Oct. 9 at Shadow Valley Country Club in Rogers.
The four-person scramble will have shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Proceeds will benefit the Benton County Sunshine School and the Samaritan Community Center.
To register online, visit www.samcc.org. Registration includes lunch, beverages and lots of prizes.
Registration will close Oct. 2.
Bentonville preschool has openings
Explore and Discover Preschool, housed in the First United Methodist Church of Bentonville, has openings in its Tuesday/ Thursday morning class for children who were 3 years old by Aug. 3, 2009.
Explore and Discover Preschool is an Arkansas Quality Accredited Center, and teachers hold bachelor's degrees or higher.

Miss BHS Pageant coming soon
The Miss BHS Pageant will be held Sept. 17 and 19 at the Arend Arts Center at Bentonville High School.
The talent competition will start at 7 p.m. Sept. 17.
The evening-gown competition and crowning will start at 7 p.m. Sept. 19.
All reserved seating is $10, and general admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students per night. If purchasing both nights in advance, reserved seats are $18, general admission is $15 for adults and $8 for students. Prices at the door are $10 for everyone. Tickets are now on sale.
Cave Springs plans Fall Festival
Cave Springs will hold its annual Fall Festival on Sept. 25-26. On Friday, there will be barbecue dinners in the Community Building from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and live music on the main stage from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday's events will include a fireman's pancake breakfast at the fire station from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.; a car chow and silent auction at City Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; a parade at 11 a.m.; the Cave Springs school reunion at the American Legion Building starting at noon; a dog show on the stage at noon; and music, food, a magician, a dunk tank and more.
