Birdies bring victory, top spot in Cup

Monday was a big day for Steve Stricker, who finished with back-to-back birdies to win the Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, Mass., by one stroke over Jason Dufner and Scott Verplank. The victory not only earned him $1.35 million and moved him up to a career-high No. 2 in the world rankings, but also allowed him to replace Tiger Woods at the top of the FedEx Cup standings.

Steve Stricker can build a strong case for the Deutsche Bank Championship as the biggest victory of his career.
