Mallett meets expectations in first start

Hog threw for 309 yards and completed 77 percent of his passes

The only person who could meet Ryan Mallett's pre-season expectations set by fans, coaches and prognosticators was the quarterback himself. In his first game in nearly two years, Mallett didn't disappoint and helped the Razorbacks to a school record for passing in a single game with 447 yards. His 309 yards and 1 touchdown on 17-of-22 passing turned heads, and his completion percentage (77 percent) was one of the best in a single game in school history.
