Gates: Obama has Afghan report

Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday that an assessment of the military situation in Afghanistan has been forwarded to President Barack Obama and any request for additional U.S. forces or money will be to "effectively implement" current strategy, not to "launch a new one."
