Can Bentonville do it again?

Tigers begin the 2009 season where they finished 2008 - ranked No. 1.

To no one's surprise, the Bentonville Tigers will begin the 2009 season ranked No. 1 in Class 7A by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Preseason rankings generally don't mean much to Bentonville head coach Barry Lunney, who guided the Tigers to the Class 7A state title last year in his fourth season here. However, as his team prepared Monday for its season opener this week against Conway, the fifth-year coach did say the ranking is a sign of respect for the program.
