Papers in area begin layoffs

As operations merge, jobs go

Several newspapers in Northwest Arkansas, including the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, began laying off employees late this week in advance of a joint venture that takes effect Sunday between Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Inc. and Stephens Media LLC.
