Brief first NASA test flight of rocket termed successful

People pack Kennedy Point Park in Titusville, Fla., on Wednesday to watch the test launch of NASA’s Ares I-X rocket as it lifts off from the Kennedy Space Center.
NASA’s newest rocket successfully completed a brief test flight Wednesday, the first step in a back-to-themoon program in danger of being shelved by the White House.
