Slaughter Pen Jam quickly evolving into more than regional mountain-bike circuit event

Jake Stechmann, 30, of Bella Vista, rode his mountain bike onto the Slaughter Pen Hollow Trail in Bentonville on Monday.

Slaughter Pen Bike Park may be the best-kept secret in town. But with close to 200 riders from five or more states, just shy of 100 runners and a steady stream of spectators expected to converge on this northwest Bentonville amenity Nov. 6-8, that will no longer be the case.
