The lobby of the Fayetteville Public Library will be named for retiring executive director Louise Levy Schaper.
”So all guests who enter this tremendous building will feel her presence,” library namesake Jim Blair announced Sunday evening during Schaper’s retirement party.
Dozens gathered at the library to celebrate Schaper’s 12 years at the helm of the city’s library. The petite, silver-haired librarian wore elegant black, and the typically tranquil building was filled with live music, drinking and laughter. The party was attended by University of Arkansas professors, city leaders past and present, building architect Jeff Scherer and former board members such as Michael Thomas and Marty Goff-Burggraf.
