Rebels waylay Hogs with itty-bitty back, big, bruising defense

Arkansas receiver Greg Childs bobbles a fourth-quarter pass in Saturday’s 30-17 loss to Mississippi in Oxford, Mo. Childs led the Arkansas receivers wth three catches for 83 yards, but was unable to score. The Razorbacks’ Carlton Salters was able to score on a deflection on a pass to Childs, however.

Arkansas slammed into a determined Ole Miss defense and a full-blown case of Dexter McCluster on a crisp fall afternoon in northern Mississippi.
McCluster shredded the Razorbacks for 260 all-purpose yards Saturday and broke open a tight game with a 64-yard screen pass touchdown to lead Ole Miss to a 30-17 victory before a crowd of 60,622 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Ole Miss (5-2, 2-2) clearly moved ahead of the Razorbacks(3-4, 1-4) in the postseason pecking order. The Rebels piled up 553 total yards, the most given up by Arkansas this season, kept the big-play Razorbacks’ passing attack out of sync with constant pressure and held the Hogs to 299 yards.
