Wal-Mart: Deflation hurts sales

Executives forecast 1% to 2% growth this year, a stronger ’10

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. executives said Thursday that they expect sales to grow by only 1 percent to 2 percent in the current fiscal year, in part because of price deflation brought on by the recession.
