JUST A THOUGHT : Sitting takes courage, too
Is the freedom to choose silence our nation’s greatest gift?

A simple reality is that most our citizens decline opportunities to engage in social commentary despite the safe haven the First Amendment affords us. After all, such activities could make us come across as something less than proud to be American. As a consequence, many forms of political speech — from facing arrest for refusing to vacate a public space, to marches led by Nazi sympathizers, to burning our nation’s flag — are often frowned upon by the general public.
