Driver beware: Deer on move in Bella Vista

“Watch out for deer crossing roads,” Animal Control officer Merle Weaver warned Bella Vistans. “If you see one deer, you’re going to see others.” That’s what happened to a driver on Chelsea Road on Sept. 29. A Bella Vista police dispatcher received a call that a car had hit a deer. The driver told the dispatcher he already had seen one deer cross the road and hit the second one. The driver was OK. The deer was not.
