Pakistan starts push into Taliban country

Pakistani troops prepare to leave on patrol Saturday to enforce a curfew in Bannu, a town on the edge of the Waziristan area.
Pakistan moved thousands of its troops into the militant stronghold of South Waziristan on Saturday, the army said, beginning a longanticipated ground offensive against militants from al-Qaida and the Taliban in treacherous terrain that has overwhelmed the army in the past.
