Vaccines are safe, effective Re Mike Masterson’s column, “About that flu shot” : To date, there have been 76 pediatric deaths due to the 2009 H1N1 virus in the United States (two in our state). The number of current deaths is similar to that seen during one average influenza season, and it is only October.
