ROGERS Police in Rogers said Benton County prosecuting attorney Van Stone has cleared an officer involved in a deadly shooting earlier this month.
Police said Cpl. Jesse Ray was found justified in shooting and killing Matthew Dague after Dague opened fire on Ray and fellow Officer John Brashears on Oct. 1.
Police said Dague had fled a traffic stop by Brashears and was stopped by Ray. Ray said he found Dague in the rear floor of the car and that Dague got up shooting before the officer returned the gunfire.
Cpl. Angel Murphy-Pearce said both Ray and Brashears are back on active duty after being placed on leave following the shooting.
