100 YEARS AGO Oct. 14, 1909 The State Capitol Commission yesterday decided to advertise for bids on the contract for the completion of the state capitol building, in so far as present plans and specifications are concerned, commencing next Sunday, and arrangements are now being made for the advertisements to appear in an engineering journal of New York City, a contractors journal of Chicago, and in St. Louis, Little Rock and Memphis papers.
