Owners cite successful lawsuit by former franchisee

Bath Junkie Inc. of Fayetteville has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, weeks after its owners, Judy and Jon Zimmer, filed for bankruptcy protection, citing a successful lawsuit by a former franchisee.

That lawsuit resulted in writs of garnishment on three of the firm’s bank accounts.

Theresa Pockrus, BathJunkie’s bankruptcy attorney, said the company will continue to operate as the case proceeds.

“The purpose is to reorganize and to move forward as a viable and ongoing concern,” she said.

The filing showed both assets and liabilities in a range of $1 million to $10 million.
