Northwest Arkansas has many soldiers - young and old - in the fight against hunger

On the front page of Tuesday’s Benton County Daily Record, you might have caught the story about a local youth group affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Bentonville. On Saturday, the group went door to door collecting food for the Storehouse food pantry, which is connected to Bentonville’s Bethel Baptist Church. The results were staggering: By the end of the day, the kids had rounded up 11,173 items — everything from tuna fish to cereal to paper towels — for the pantry. It was even more than Storehouse could store. Bethel Baptist Church Pastor Brandon Cox said, “We were blown away.” We’re all blown away, pastor.
