City's aldermen ought to share the pain

A couple of facts are readily available over at the Fayetteville city clerk's office. For instance, each of our city's eight aldermen receives $700 per month and have ever since the group approved an ordinance doubling their pay in August 1998. That decision came just six years after the council decided to start giving themselves anything at all.
