Housing grants draw teachers to the Delta

State aid given with multiyear contracts

Paul and Kathy Rains received nearly $10,000 from the Arkansas Teacher Housing Development Foundation to buy her their Forrest City home, which has an indoor pool and sits on 2 acres of land.

A few months ago, Kathy Rains and her family were living in a small rented house near downtown in this Delta city.
