Fire takes half a duplex

The quick response may have saved the southern apartment.

An older woman, her white hair matching her T-shirt, sat on the porch at 724 S. 21st St. It was about 11:15 a.m. Friday, and firefighters were still putting out flames at 720, half a duplex connected with 722.
