— Three works in the permanent collection of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art - two of them not previously announced to the public - will be included in major traveling exhibitions this fall, museum officials announced Thursday.

Richard Caton Woodville's "War News from Mexico," an iconic genre scene in American art created in 1848, will be included in "American Stories: Paintings of Everyday Life, 1765-1915," which will open Oct. 12 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Arthur Fitzwilliam Tai's 1856 painting, "The Life of a Hunter: A Tight Fix," announced to the public in 2005, also will be included in "American Stories."

John Haberle's illusionistic 1887 still life, "Small Change," also previously unannounced, will travel to the New Britain Museum of American Art in Connecticut, where it will be a part of the "John Haberle: Master of Illusion" exhibit on display Dec. 11, 2009 to March 14, 2010.

These three works join 30 others from Crystal Bridges' permanent collection that are currently on loan to other institutions.
