MALE CALL Proper sweater-washing takes specific instructions

Q. I’m beginning to think no sweater is “washable.” When the label says washable, whether the sweater is wool or some other fabric, I follow the instructions and the sweater never looks good after that. Would I do better by taking my sweaters to the dry cleaner and forget about washing them myself?
