CLUB BRIEFS Democrats Sponsor Drive

A food drive sponsored by the Benton County Democratic Central Committee continues until Dec. 20.
A new drop-off point has been set up in Gravette at Servpro, 13597 Arkansas 72.
Also, a special collection point is planned Dec. 11 at the Price Cutter store on Dixieland Road in Rogers.
The project is to collect nonperishable foods and/or checks. Blankets, coats and sweaters are also welcome.
Collections will be directed equally to Benton County Helping Hands and Samaritan House in Rogers.

Kingsdale Squares
Off ering Lessons BELLA VISTA - The Kingsdale Squares will give “Plus Lessons” from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at Riordan Hall.
Dancing will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. with Johnny Eubanks as the caller.

Mother To Mother Hosts Santa Letters
Mother to Mother Ministry of Northwest Arkansas is hosting its annual “Letters from Santa” fundraiser.
For $5, a personalized letter from Santa will be mailed to the child(ren) of the donor’s choice, beginning the first week of December and ending Dec. 13.
Proceeds help purchase food for the group’s annual Christmas party provided for the single/low-income mothers and their families.
Checks or money orders should be mailed to MtMM, P.O. Box 2087, Bentonville, 72712. The mailing should include the name of the child(ren), and complete mailing address.

Andante Club
Meets Tuesday BELLA VISTA - The Andante Music Club, an affiliate of theNational Federation of Music Clubs, will meet at 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday at the Village House, 1801 Forest Hills and Lancashire boulevards.
Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 1 p.m. with group singing of Christmas carols and special music by Marilyn Lee at the piano and Willete Atkins as vocalist. Christmas poetry will be given by Shirley Hofmann.

Christian Women Meet Dec. 8 BELLA VISTA - “Christmas Cottage” is the theme for the Dec. 8 meeting of the Christian Women’s Club featuring the Crafty Cottage.
Gigi Crow will tell about the variety of craft lessons offered there. The meeting and brunch is held the second Tuesday of each month from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista.
The brunch is $10.
Guest speaker this month is Jackie Van Eaton from Tulsa, Okla., who will share her story of “Hope in a Hopeless Situation.”

Meets Thursday BENTONVILLE - Bentonville Noon Lions Club will meet at noon Thursday at Acropolis Restaurant.

At Dec. 8 Lunch FAYETTEVILLE - The Women’s Connection will host a “Bling & Bedazzled” luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Clarion Inn at 1255 S. Shiloh Drive in Fayetteville.
Renee Whitely will show the latest in Cookie Lee Fashion Jewelry. Jackie Van Eaton from Tulsa will speak.
Those attending are asked to bring a Christmas ornament to exchange.
Luncheon cost is $13. Dropins are welcome.

Garden Club
Planting Trees
The Garden Club of Rogers is planting three pecan trees at the Westside School in Rogers at 2 p.m. Tuesday following their Tuesday meeting.
Westwood Gardens will plant the trees, and when thetrees are bearing fruit, the public can freely harvest the pecans.
Legion Post
Slates Breakfast
American Legion Post 100 will hold its monthly breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the post, 711 W. Persimmon St., Rogers.
The menu is biscuits and sausage gravy, sausage patties, eggs, waffles, pancakes, fruit cup, coffee and orange juice for a suggested donation of $6 adults, $3 children or $13 family. Proceeds will benefit American Legion program.
