AREA CHILDREN TAKE STAGE IN ‘THE NUTCRACKER’

— Sixty-eight children from 25 area dance studios will appear with the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet in a production of “The Nutcracker” this weekend at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville. The youngsters were selected by audition in August.

Among the children is 12-year-old Peyton Etzel from Rogers, who has been dancing in productions of “The Nutcracker” since she was 6 years old. A student at Classical Ballet Academy in Bentonville, she will portray Clara.

Showtimes are 8 p.m. today, 2 and 8 p.m.

Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $28.50 to $52.50 by calling 443-5600.
