Teens
Teen Book Group for grades sixth through 12th will meet at 5 p.m. Dec. 1. They will be reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.
Monday Night Bookies Book Club begins at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Boys and girls in grades 3-7 are invited to share excellent books, a great discussion and snacks. Parents, guardians or other adult family members are encouraged to participate. The book to be discussed is Running Out of Time by Margaret Haddix.
Family
The Children’s Department will present a special Thanksgiving story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 25. All ages are welcome to attend.
The Children’s Library will present an Anne of Green Gables movie marathon Nov. 28. Anne of Green Gables [Rated G] begins at 10 a.m. The second movie, Anne of Green Gables: the Sequel, will begin at noon, and Anne of Green Gables: the Continuing Story will begin at 2 p.m.
Movies
Saturday Cinema begins at 2 p.m. Dec. 19. This week’s movie is Little Women [Rating: PG. Run Time: 118 min.] starring Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon, Gabriel Byrne, Trini Alvarado, Samantha Mathis, Kirsten Dunst, and Claire Danes, and directed by Gillian Armstrong. This is the story of the March family of four daughters and a strong mother (Sarandon) who, because her husband is away serving in the Army during the Civil War, must raise her “little women” on her own. The daughters include: spirited Jo (Ryder) who longs for a career as a writer; beautiful and conservative older sister Meg (Alvarado); fragile Beth (Danes); and the romantic Amy (Dunst/Mathis). Through the years, as they become women, the sisters share their most cherished and painful moments of selfdiscovery as their mother’s pride and strength guide them through questions of independence, romance and virtue. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
The Children’s Library will present a holiday movie marathon Saturday, Dec. 26. Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol begins at 10 a.m. The second movie, A Christmas Story [Rated PG], will begin at noon, and It’s a Wonderful Life will begin at 2 p.m.

Crafty Creators begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 30. Come join us for an hour filled with creation and imagination. Join us this week and make your own owl craft. This program is best for ages 5 and up. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
